Yes, GF is using non standard ports which usually don't work at work using a proxy.
The evil one is http://uni670.ogame.org:9214/socket.io/socket.io.js
You can try and block this one, then everything will probably work normal again.
This will hopefully be changed ...

lrdfrb, Thanks!

Problem was solved by opening 9214 port on firewall.

I have a similar problem. Nearly whole page loads, but loading of the event box takes about 10 seconds.
It happens on my mobile connection, when I exceed my monthly quota and speed is reduced. However, speed isn't the issue, because ping times to uni670.ogame.org are "normal" (equal to those of ogame.ba and ogame.com.hr, which load completely in 2-3 seconds).
At home, everything works normal.

I've tried:
Opening the port 9214 on firewall as SinGod92 suggested.
Disabling the firewall completely.
Blocking "http://uni670.ogame.org:9214/socket.io/socket.io.js" by putting it in java script exceptions.

Nothing helped.

Note: I can't find port 9214 when I type "netstat".

Is there any way to solve my problem?

I did a little research using Chrome's Network tool, and socket.io is indeed causing the delay:

Blocking

Is there any other way (besides firewall) to avoid this?

Edit: I tried to specifically block port 9214 on my firewall, and page loading increased to over 20 seconds. Network tool said that socket.io.js could not be loaded. So, SinGod92's problem was indeed the firewall. My problem lies somewhere else.

Edit 2: (I don't want to bump the thread all the time, so I'll use edit instead):
I had a look at network tool at home, where my connection and load times are "normal".

I also noticed that socket.io.js is the only script which doesn't load from cache.
Some conclusions:
My problem is caused by socket.io.js and a reduced internet connection speed.
Other OGame servers work normally at that speed because they don't use socket.io.js.

I guess there is no way to run socket.io.js from cache?

Loading is "normal" now.
I've checked, and indeed, socket.io.js is now loading from cache. I don't know how and why that happened.
It already happened once, but I thought that my internet connection speed went up, so I didn't check how socket.io.js is loading. But reopening the browser gave me slow loading times again.
I'm afraid to close my browser now, because I fear it will be slow when I open it again.

Note: Earlier today, I've tried to manually put socket.io.js in my cache folder, but that didn't accomplish anything. Socket.io.js wasn't loading from cache and everything was slow. Then, few hours later, the problem solved itself.

Does anyone know why this is happening, and how can I force socket.io.js to load from cache?

Edit:

It's slow again. "Normal" speed lasted for about an hour and a half. It became slow when I started building Solar Satellites...

Well, I've exceeded my monthly quota again, and Origin is slow again (~12 seconds per page).
Is there really nothing I can do to play Origin "normally", like I play other unis?

4.0.2 came to .ba and .com.hr. Now all unis I play are extremely slow. So it isn't about the .origin server, it's about 4.0.2.

You are right, the file socket.io.js causes this delay on slow connections - it's reported.

Thanks.

4.0.3 fixes the problem.
socket.io.js, still isn't loading from cache, but that isn't a problem, because it loads under a second.
Tnx for the fix. I hope it comes to other unis soon.

Openend again - It's solved for most player (with 4.0.3) , but this problem still exists when a proxy or ISP blocks this port.
